2022 DE&I Priorities

We kicked off the meeting with a warm welcome to our new members Oscar and Annaya. Jacqui Robertson, our Board Chair, also announced her big news; after several years of serving as head of Talent and DEI at William Blair, she's decided to transition to Cleveland Clinic as their new Chief Diversity Officer. Please join us in congratulating Jacqui!

Eric Davis then reviewed the results from the i4cp’s 2022 Priorities & Predictions report by function. We discussed the CDO Priorities:

  • Retention of diverse talent
  • Maintaining momentum on DEI pledges
  • Equitable hybrid and flex work practices
  • Metrics, accountability and transparency

One member company asked "how are you measuring or planning to measure belonging as part of DEIB efforts? I am looking to see if I can add more questions to our existing engagement survey to accomplish this – or deciding if I need a new tool/measurement strategy." That spurred a deluge of responses in chat that can be found here on the i4cp Expert Network.  Please feel free to follow and add to this conversation and others here.

We then hosted a breakout session where groups discussed “As it pertains to your 2022 strategic priorities: How must your organization's EVP and talent sourcing evolve to better attract and retain underrepresented talent?” You can hear some of the ideas shared on the meeting recording (fast forward to 43:10).

Next, we were joined by 2 members of the i4cp team leading work on HR Business Partners (HRBP) capabilities, Patrick Murray, VP People & Insights and Lindsay Rice, Director, Member Services. Although we’ve always built DEI considerations into each of our six core capability areas for HRBP development, we are excited to share our plan to add DEI as a seventh core capability to our model – and we’d love your input. During the meeting we had a very robust conversation that we plan to continue by allocating one hour at the in person meeting in Scottsdale to review the capabilities and ask for volunteers to provide input and support (fast forward meeting recording to 56:28).
