Accelerating Workforce Readiness

Senior research analyst Tom Stone highlighted key findings from i4cp's research study, Accelerating Workforce Readiness. If it wasn’t obvious before, the COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the importance of organizational agility. The future of work is reliant on the capacity of organizations to assess their skills & capabilities and establish a culture of continuous learning and development. This study is a deep dive into aspects of workforce readiness such as skills inventories, skills development, talent hoarding vs. talent mobility, internal talent marketplaces, the broader talent ecosystem, and more.

Board members discussed:

  • How is the Office of DE&I involved with workforce readiness?

  • What are specific metrics associated with workforce readiness and development?

  • How are you preparing the workers of the future?

This conversation was followed by breakout groups to further explore success practices and challenges with:

  • Creating skills inventories

  • Disaggregating data to ensure access as it relates to succession and development

  • Measuring success
